Pah Homestead hurdle fence restoration

In 2009 we were approached by Matthews & Matthews Architects and Auckland Council to remove and repair the 160 year old Hurdle fence at the Pah Homestead in Monte Cecilia Park. After years of neglect the fence needed major repair and was removed piece by piece and bought back to the forge. The Fence was made from genuine wrought iron and all welding had to be competed traditionally in the coal forge to maintain strength and resistance to corrosion. In total over 500 fire welds were completed and additional wrought iron source from the south island to complete the project.

Hopetoun Alpha railing restoration

In 20012 we were contacted by the Hopetoun Alpha trust to repair the interior balustrade. Made up of over 80 ornate cast iron sections, the railings over many years had had decorative peices broken off and lost. We assesed every section for damage and cracks and forged new replacement components. Severly broken sections were removed and repaired at the forge and smaller peices were replaced on site.
